Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Glad to hear you enjoyed the film short, as well as my playful sense of humour. Guess it wouldn't surprise you that I also enjoy playing practical jokes (something a few of my wife's co-workers have had the pleasure of learning first-hand)?
Thanks again, Janet, for your comment and kind words.

Hi Jackie,
Being a fan of The X-Files, I have a natural affinity for seeing the woods as having the potential to be a creepy and foreboding place. Of course, the fact that there are spiders and, as I met first-hand, snakes lurking about among those trees does help to create a less-inviting place for some to want to visit.
For me, the things that are most effective in being terrifying are those that channel to our sense of imagination, of viewing the ordinary from a completely different and unfamiliar angle. A good example of this is Psycho - I don't think anyone can watch that film and not find themselves looking every now and then while in the shower to make sure no one else is there.
As for the camp-out in the forest, I know a great place where you can do that. And don't worry about the snake - he's friendly, though perhaps a little camera-shy. :)

Hi Janet,

Thank you for the wonderful compliment. They can be in the bedroom like in Paranormal Activity. Idea for your next creative piece: real monsters in the closet... and they must not be the cutie kinds... :D
One crazy thing I wanted to do... is to camp alone in a forest for the night... And write about it. So much materials to document about inner fears, the line between what's in our head and what's real, etc. In summary, heavy and scary stuff. But as the big chicken that I am, I never had the nerve to actually do it... yet. And needless to say that no one I know has offered to share this adventure with me ... :) Ok I am going to watch The Blair Witch tonight. I may change my mind after watching it.

I heard that spooky creatures can be anywhere, not in the woods like the Blair Witch Project… They can be in the bedroom like in Paranormal Activity. I like to think of it as sharing the many sides of myself. And I guess that that has more meaning that ever. LOL!
Interesting side bit about this piece - it was filmed in this abandoned trail I found while scouting for locations to film this video. I actually had to clear some branches in some places because I kept getting swiped by them. It made for a good spot to film because I didn't have to worry about anyone knowing I was there . . . or at least I hoped that there was no one else there. Admittedly, I did get creeped out myself getting into the . . . spirit of things. Heh heh.
In any case, glad to hear the piece had the desired effect. Well, except that Angelina now will be more wary walking her dog late at night. :D

Hi Jackie, Alain, and Angelina

I like to think of it as sharing the many sides of myself.
