Audio Storytelling – A Look Behind The Microphone

As I’ve mentioned here on my website and in my Twitter stream, one of the creative projects I work on is the internet drama series, “Star Trek Unity”. Currently, I’m at work directing the third of four audio episodes which will lead our audience into the character storylines that will be the focus of our CG animated series.
Since directing and co-writing the first two episodes of this series, I’ve received many compliments about the production and sound quality of our episodes. While working on this current episode, I thought it’d be fun to offer a glimpse of how the actor’s lines go from what we record in our acting sessions to what you’ll hear as the finished result.
So I made this podcast you can listen to here on my blog to give you an idea of what’s involved. Aside from editing out my comments giving direction to the actor, what you’ll hear at the start is exactly what I begin with and at the end, you’ll get a pretty good impression of what the final piece will sound like when I made this next episode available for release.
